Highpoint Health Winchester (part of Lifepoint Health) is a 157‑bed acute care facility with a 13‑bay Emergency Department that receives more than 15,000 visits annually. As an Emergency Department RN, you will play a vital role in making the community healthier.

• Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
• Document patient care given.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

• Education
  :
  Associate’s degree required.
• Required Skills
  :
  Critical thinking, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Certifications
  : AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Licenses
  :
  Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in Tennessee or a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
