A PRN Receptionist who excels in this role:

• Provide administrative support, function as a receptionist, perform clerical and customer service duties, and handle non-technical tasks in practices or departments.
• Prepare statistical reports and perform clerical tasks such as outgoing mail, incoming mail distribution, filing, data entry, database maintenance, typing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
• Greet visitors and communicate with patients, providers, and other offices, departments, or facilities.
• Answer and direct phone calls and distribute messages.
• Organize, coordinate, and schedule meetings and appointments.
• Keep the office area neat and monitor and order office supplies.
• Handle information requests, review files and records, respond to inquiries, and manage incoming work requests.
• Coordinate workflow and maintain records of office activities.
• Manage basic accounting functions such as checking invoices, making deposits, and petty cash handling where payments are made or collected.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
• Adhere to and support all policies and procedures.
• Work scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.
• Accept all call schedules as directed.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance in compliance with the dress code.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Key services include a 10-bed ICU, a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit, along with a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five ORs, and two Endoscopy Suites.

Diagnostic imaging includes MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The ED sees more than 15,000 visits annually.

Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility with 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds.
