Location: Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas – Winchester & Sewanee, TN

Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas is a Joint Commission accredited hospital serving patients of south‑central Tennessee with two locations (Winchester and Sewanee).

• Outpatient, float to 24 Highpoint clinics (primary care & specialties).

• Most sites 7–5 or 8–5; some Mon–Sun.
• PRN must work at least 1 shift every 90 days.

• Approximately 1 month of precepted multi‑site training before independent shifts.

• Team‑oriented, flexible, high‑volume.
• Growth opportunities for the coordinator and hospital roles.

Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned clinic or specialty area. May float to cover other offices or clinics as needed.

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Take vital signs, record medical histories, and update EMR.
• Assist providers with clinical procedures and treatments.
• Perform basic lab tests and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
• Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment.
• Support scheduling, referrals, and patient flow.
• Ensure compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards.

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• A current certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Compassion, adaptability, and a patient‑first mindset.
• Experience:
  
  New grads welcome; outpatient or multi‑specialty clinic experience preferred.

• Critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to function in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
