As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, the LPN provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Under the direction of an RN or Med‑Surge Charge Nurse, the LPN contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN. The LPN performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care, and may administer medication.

They document patient care, assist the RN with the development of the plan of care, and support patients in performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. The LPN monitors, documents, and communicates the patient's status and reactions to interventions with the RN, physician, patient, and families, acting as an advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well‑being.

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.
• Current LPN license to practice in the State of Kentucky.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, within 30 days of hire.
