SUMMARY
  • Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Assist with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Perform and oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determine and justify needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitor usage, and oversee proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Ensure department stays focused on its role in the continuum of care.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Position serves both internal co‑workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Access to and/or work with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Skill in application of policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work; ensure quality standards.
  • Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing staff; reviewing performance and administering corrective action.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Business Mathematical Skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
  • Moderate Computer Skills – frequent use of email, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics; create, maintain, and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
  • Complex Communication – frequently communicate complex information and interact with management; present, resolve, and address delicate situations; motivate and persuade others.
  • Varied Business Problems – problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation; solved using knowledge, general precedent, and practices.
  • Department Specific – decisions impact the management and operations within a department; may contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  • Functional Independent Judgement – provide and set goals and priorities for functional area; make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs; make decisions for and/or resolve problems for others.
  • Project Planning/Organization – handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (required). Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
  • Must have 5–10 years management experience in Pediatrics / Family Medicine.
