Clark Regional Medical Center
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring
- Reports to Director Inpatient Services
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff
- Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent:
Required - Ability to pass Cardiac Telemetry Examination upon hire
- Successfully complete Cardiac telemetry Certification Course within 6 months of hire date
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA), preferred
