We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a busy manufacturing team on a temporary contract. This role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components to tight tolerances. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering drawings, machining processes, and quality standards.

• Program, set and operate Hurco CNC milling machines using Winmax control systems
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
• Carry out machine offsets, tool changes, and adjust speeds and feeds as required
• Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, verniers)
• Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report faults
• Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace
• Undertake additional duties as required to meet business needs

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in a similar CNC milling role within a manufacturing/engineering environment
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience with a range of machining and work-holding methods
• Knowledge of CNC controls (ISO, Heidenhain, etc.)
• Good understanding of health and safety practices

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience machining a variety of materials
• 4/5 axis machining experience
• At least 1 year's experience using Winmax conversational programming software

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:45 (45 minutes unpaid lunch)

Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
