Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified graduate to gain valuable experience at a leading independent school as a Graduate Sport Assistant within our thriving PE department. Working primarily in the Junior School, you will support the delivery of a wide range of sporting activities for pupils aged 4 to 11. The role involves assisting with junior swimming lessons (EYFS and Key Stage
1), accompanying teaching staff on sport-related fixtures, trips and activities, and contributing to Junior Games afternoons depending on your sporting specialism. For the right candidate, there may also be opportunities to lead groups independently. In addition to lesson support, the Graduate Sport Assistant will assist with junior lunchtime sports clubs and provide administrative support to the PE department, such as inputting assessment data and preparing or photocopying resources.
- Assist with junior swimming lessons for EYFS and Key Stage 1, supporting children in the early years and primary years.
- Accompany teaching staff on sport-related fixtures, trips and activities.
- Contribute to Junior Games afternoons, depending on your sporting specialism; potential to lead groups independently.
- Support junior lunchtime sports clubs, reinforcing key teaching points and creating a positive and engaging sporting environment.
- Provide administrative support to the PE department (inputting assessment data, preparing or photocopying resources).
We are seeking a personable and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and organisational skills and a genuine passion for sport and education. Applicants should be keen sportspeople who play or have played football, cricket, gymnastics, hockey, netball, swimming or tennis to a high level, although applications from candidates with other sporting specialisms will also be considered. Coaching experience and the ability to offer more than one sport to a high standard is advantageous.

Hours:
Full time, Term time plus 5 days
Salary: £28,000
