We are currently seeking an Apprentice Operative to join our South West and Wales Operations Team based at our Cricklade site. At Tarmac, our Operatives are the heartbeat of our business – helping to manufacture the essential materials that shape roads, buildings, and infrastructure across the country.

Your day-to-day will be varied, practical, and full of learning opportunities. Activities may include:

• Operating production equipment such as cranes, forklifts, mobile and fixed plant systems
• Carrying out basic maintenance and inspections to keep equipment running smoothly
• Supporting a safe working environment and upholding our high safety standards
• Being a role model for health and safety – looking out for yourself and your team
• Working collaboratively to drive continuous improvement and strong team communication
• Taking pride in your work and being determined to succeed
• Working both inside and outside in varying conditions; full protective clothing is provided to keep you safe.

Qualification:

Mineral Processing Mobile and Static Plant Operator – Level 2 Apprenticeship. The course will be delivered in block release at the National Skills and Safety Park in Macclesfield, with accommodation and travel expenses provided.

• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) at pass grade. We can support you in gaining the qualifications you need as part of your apprenticeship.
• Ability to travel to college.

• Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges.
