The CRNA Compliance Officer collaborates with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. The role fosters a patient‑centric environment focusing on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs of patients, families, and significant others. As a focal professional, the CRNA ensures continuity of care within scope of practice standards and resolves problems that may arise.
As a call CRNA, you will work a 24/7 model providing timely anesthetic and emergency care. The position is full‑time and distinct from non‑call CRNAs, requiring a flexible, non‑patterned schedule including off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays. Availability to respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting is required. Notice of 90 days is required when transitioning or resigning from the call team.
Responsibilities- Clinical Care
- The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) implements accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
- Professional Skill
- Understand physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures; constantly monitor vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.
- Information Management
- Ensure appropriate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements; protect information in all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or accidental disclosure.
- Quality Management
- Demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
- Professional Development
- Continuously engage in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
- Schedule & Availability
- Provide off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in‑house call rotation.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services in the hospital setting.
- Education: Completion of Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program; graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs; current State of Connecticut Nursing License; APRN licensure in Connecticut.
- Experience: Preferred clinical working experience as a CRNA; APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process; evidence of current competence via reference letters from physicians and other practitioners.
- Licensure: AANA certification;
State of CT RN and APRN license; ACLS, DEA Registration, and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration. - Special
