Job Summary

Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Cultivates a patient‑centric environment focusing on the whole individual inclusive of physical, psychosocial, spiritual and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for continuity of care within scope‑of‑practice standards and specialty‑specific standards to address and resolve problems.

A call CRNA position entails a flexible, non‑patterned schedule with in‑house call responsibilities including off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays. Requires availability to work off‑shifts, weekends, and holidays as part of the restricted in‑house call rotation.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care – Implement accurate, safe, patient‑centered anesthetic care.
  • Professional Skill – Understand physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitor vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.
  • Information Management – Ensure appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protect information of all forms from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or accidental disclosure.
  • Quality Management – Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
  • Professional Development – Continuously engage in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
Qualifications

Education
:
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – completion of Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program, graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the AANA. Current State of Connecticut Nursing License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Connecticut.

Experience
:
Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line recommended, but none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs are required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
