Role and ResponsibilitiesTooling Design and Roadmap Execution
- Drive long‑term tooling design roadmaps aligned with ASML’s strategy and industry trends.
- Lead the development of innovative tooling solutions and ensure robust integration with factory operations.
- Define tooling functional requirements and specifications in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Design and develop complex tooling, fixtures, and jigs that meet safety and ergonomic standards.
- Drive business case, design proposal analysis, risk assessment and EHS compliance.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as Solid Works or CATIA.
- Facilitate design reviews and perform tolerance, structural, and thermal analysis to ensure quality.
- Release designs with proper documentation to support procurement and lifecycle management.
- Drive tooling design problem solving tasks for escalations and implement corrective actions for issues.
- Identify and drive tooling design process improvements to increase key KPI metrics.
- Define and drive roadmap initiatives for design.
- Support leaders in executive level reviews and technical insights.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers through issues and major escalations.
- Architect and support PE team in implementation of tooling design improvements to help elevate production efficiency and quality.
- Work with design and engineering team to develop new tooling to ensure process stability.
- Provide expert technical guidance during tooling integration testing and industrialization phases to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in tooling design and manufacturing engineering or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, NX) and familiarity with PLM systems such ascenter.
- Experience with design analysis methods and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively across teams and suppliers.
- Apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to complex design challenges.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership in driving design improvements.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and emerging technologies.
- Maintain attention to detail in design and documentation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
