Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.Check product quality, freshness, and review "sell by" dates; take appropriate actions.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.Understand store layout to locate products efficiently.Stay updated with current and upcoming promotions and seasonal ads.Maintain knowledge of department products to answer questions and make suggestions.Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and keep logs.Promote trust and respect among team members.Create a welcoming environment for customers, responding to inquiries about products.Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.Notify management of customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:Basic math knowledge.Ability to obtain a food handler’s permit upon employment.Desired Previous Job
