All About On Demand:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those that are looking for a personalized work schedule.

As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule. When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary.

You must actively engage by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our contact attempts to confirm your interest in working shifts  you do not respond, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be administratively terminated.

Further, you will attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime app is used to pick shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
  • Thank guests and let them know you’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment as needed. Be familiar with fulfillment services and how to direct guests to enroll, activate and use them.
  • Explain how to use Wallet and other Target App features.
  • Handle returns according to policy, partnering with leadership as needed to resolve guest issues.
  • De-escalate situations and recover guest shopping experience following Target policies and procedures.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
  • Work safely and report hazards; follow safety policies, best practices, and training.
  • Support guest services such as order pickup, Drive-Up orders and returns, and maintain compliance with applicable laws.
  • Support cash office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
  • All other duties as needed for business.

Essential skills include: effective communication, staying calm in a fast-paced environment, a welcoming attitude, attention to detail, willingness to educate guests about products and services, and ability to use multiple devices and handheld scanners. You can work independently or with a team.

Requirements
  • Accurately handle cash register operations and cash office tasks as needed.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) to meet store needs.
  • Active engagement by picking up shifts and responding to contact attempts; must work at least one shift within 5 months or be administratively terminated.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
  • Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a shift.
