Overview
The Engineering Technician supports engineering projects by performing basic technical assignments under the direction of an engineer. This role conducts technical research, completes calculations, assists with design and testing activities, organizes technical data, and prepares reports for engineer review—all while maintaining dependable on-site attendance, collaborating effectively with coworkers, and assisting customers as needed, including during pre production phases.
Responsibilities- Perform basic technical assignments under the direction and supervision of an engineer
- Search, investigate and select technical reference data pertinent to a project
- Make calculations employing mathematical formulas
- May provide technical assistance in the area of design, layout and detail drawing, material procurement, construction and testing of experimental models
- Compile and organize technical data and prepare reports for evaluation by the engineers in charge
- Duties consist mainly of closely supervised assignments in direct support of the engineer, usually in a specific field requiring the application of basic technical fundamentals
- Must be able to positively relate and interact with co-workers
- Able to be at work – regular attendance
- Able to work a full shift
- Able to work at the business location
- Customer assistance
- Involvement in pre-production as required
- Ability to perform basic technical assignments under the direction and supervision of an engineer
- Ability to search, investigate and select technical reference data pertinent to a project
- Ability to make calculations employing mathematical formulas
- Experience with design, layout and detail drawing, material procurement, construction and testing of experimental models is possible
- Strong organization and data compilation skills; ability to prepare reports for engineers
- Regular attendance and reliable on-site presence
- Good teamwork and customer interaction skills
Salary Range: $52,800 - $74,250
