Position Description

Position Summary

The Industrial Construction Plumbing Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating plumbing crews on heavy industrial construction projects such as power plants, manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, refineries, and processing facilities. This role ensures all plumbing systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, codes, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• • Supervise and lead plumbing crews in the installation of industrial piping systems including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, process piping, and specialty systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometrics, shop drawings, and specifications.
  • Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to crew members to meet project schedules and productivity targets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, other trades, and subcontractors to prevent conflicts and delays.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes (local, state, federal) and site-specific requirements.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations; conduct job hazard analyses and toolbox talks.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for daily operations.
  • Track labor hours, production quantities, and progress reports.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and journeymen plumbers.
  • Assist with job site layout, elevations, underground utilities, and field measurements.
  • Support hydrostatic testing, system start-up, and commissioning activities.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

• • 5-10+ years of industrial plumbing experience.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, supports, valves, and fixtures.
  • Ability to interpret complex construction documents.
  • Familiarity with industrial environments such as refineries, power plants, or heavy manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work practices.
  • Proficient with layout tools and measuring instruments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Education & Certifications

• • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Plumber license preferred (if applicable by state).
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • NCCER certification (Plumbing) preferred.

Physical Requirements

• • Ability to work in industrial environments including heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.

Work Environment

• • Heavy industrial construction sites.
  • May require overtime, weekend work, and travel.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and industrial hazards.
