In-Person Sales Development Representative (Field Sales)
Location: Wilson, NC (Local candidates only)
Contract: 6-Month Contract with Possible Extension
About the RoleWe are seeking an In-Person Sales Development Representative to support local market growth by engaging restaurants face-to-face and setting qualified meetings for the Outside Sales team. This is a field-based role focused on building relationships with independent and regional restaurant owners through short, high-impact, in-person conversations.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, thrives in a people-first sales environment, and is motivated by clear goals and measurable results. You will be the first point of contact for many local businesses and play a critical role in driving new partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Visit a high volume of restaurant prospects within the assigned Wilson, NC territory.
- Introduce the company’s platform and clearly communicate its value to restaurant owners and decision makers.
- Identify and engage owners or key decision makers during brief, in-person conversations.
- Build rapport quickly and earn trust in a fast-paced, face-to-face selling environment.
- Secure and schedule qualified meetings for the Outside Sales team.
- Log all visits, conversations, and outcomes accurately in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar systems).
- Collaborate closely with Outside Account Executives on target accounts, follow-ups, and territory strategy.
- Plan and manage daily routes to maximize productivity and meeting quality.
- Conduct follow-up communication via phone, text, or email to confirm meetings and maintain engagement.
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly performance targets related to meetings set and held.
- Gather and share feedback from local merchants to improve sales messaging and overall approach.
- 1+ year of experience in outbound sales, canvassing, field marketing, or customer-facing roles focused on new business or sign-ups.
- Backgrounds in sales, hospitality, retail, food service, or service industries are highly valued.
- Strong verbal communication skills and confidence engaging with new people.
- Ability to learn and clearly articulate a value proposition.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Organized with strong time management and follow-up skills.
- Coachable, open to feedback, and interested in long-term sales career growth.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the local territory.
- Experience using CRM or sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, or similar).
- Restaurant, food & beverage, or local business experience.
- Prior experience in face-to-face or field sales environments.
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods while visiting merchants.
- Ability to drive frequently within the assigned territory.
- Ability to carry light materials such as flyers, one-pagers, or a tablet.
- Willingness to work restaurant-friendly hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
