Position Summary

As a Crew Leader in our Wilson, NC Passenger Car & Light Truck Radial Tire facility, you will play an essential role in leading, managing and providing direction to production teammates within a designated department of the plant. Crew Leaders are focused on providing a safe working environment while ensuring the quality and quantity of our products meets departmental requirements. Additionally, our Crew Leaders are responsible for communicating company objectives, workforce planning/scheduling and continuously seeking improvement opportunities within our manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises production teammates with responsibility for performance management and training.
  • Motivates teammates to continually improve performance
  • Sets day-to-day objectives, organizes workflow, provides guidance, and supports achievement of goals for crew
  • Monitor, analyze, countermeasure quality-related problems, providing training and retraining to teammates as needed, ensuring proper development of teammates skills and training needs through daily monitoring and follow up
  • Makes decisions on the acceptability of questionable material components following standard practice guidelines
  • Promotes safety awareness daily
  • Counsels and directs training of workforce in safe operating procedures, monitors the environment and investigates, reports and initiates corrective measures as needed
  • Communicates regularly with management and plant leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing/production experience
  • 2 years of leadership/managing hourly teammates in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Associates or Bachelors degree (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make data driven decisions (industrial engineering experience) preferred
