Laboratory Architect

Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technology Lead to design, implement, and operationalize a digital laboratory support model for a new greenfield manufacturing site with future scalability to other facilities worldwide. This role will be the single point of contact (POC) for laboratory design, technology strategy, and integration, ensuring that all laboratory systems are fully digital, compliant, and future‑ready.

This is not a traditional Project Manager role—the ideal candidate brings hands‑on laboratory technology expertise, experience in greenfield site implementations, and a proven ability to drive lab digitization (LIMS, data integrity, benchtop connectivity) in a GxP‑regulated environment.

• Lead the design and delivery of a digital laboratory operating model, with a focus on LIMS, Lab Vantage, and paperless data integrity.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, lab resources, and IT teams for laboratory systems design and integration.
• Drive the Lab strategy, planning, and requirements definition to support both new facility builds and global expansion.
• Partner with the Program Manager to ensure deliverables are achieved within scope, timeline, and budget.
• Conduct an IT assessment of benchtop laboratory systems across new and existing sites, including evaluation of roadmaps, support models, technical debt, and business ownership.
• Develop a long‑term support strategy for laboratory systems, ensuring scalability, risk management, and alignment with enterprise IT strategy.
• Ensure integration of Lab systems with SAP, MES, labeling systems, and other enterprise platforms.
• Champion digitization initiatives (e.g., Lab Vantage, LIMS, ALM/TLM, TIME models) across the lab ecosystem.
• Manage risk (IT RAID), ensure stakeholder communication, and act as a de facto Project Manager when required.
• Support vendor engagement and evaluate external solutions for Lab digitization and integration.
• Provide strategic thought leadership while maintaining hands‑on involvement in lab technology.

• Must have:
  • Strong background in QC Lab systems and benchtop lab equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience with Lab Vantage LIMS (mandatory).
  • Experience with greenfield site implementation of manufacturing and lab systems.
  • Deep knowledge of Pharma and GxP regulations.
  • Strong understanding of lab business processes, system qualification, and validation.
  • Demonstrated experience with lab system integrations (SAP, MES, labeling, and other enterprise systems).
  • Proven success operating in highly matrixed organizations and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Preferred:
  • Experience with IT network and infrastructure related to lab environments.
  • Familiarity with ALM/TLM and TIME models.
  • Previous Project Management experience.
