Job Description: We’re seeking an experienced general Project Manager/Construction Manager to support the end-to-end delivery of a greenfield biologics manufacturing facility for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. The role will support execution across civil/site, building shell and core, cleanroom buildout, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP), utilities (black and clean), process equipment installation, and start-up/turnover ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA/EMA expectations, and ISPE good engineering practices.
You’ll act in a supporting role among design firms, EPCs, trade contractors, equipment OEMs, commissioning/qualification/validation (CQV) teams, Quality, EHS, and site operations driving schedule, cost, safety, quality, and risk outcomes on a complex, fast-paced program.
Responsibilities:
- Manage integrated schedule, cost control actions, and risk mitigations for Construction execution.
- Coordinate EPCs, trade contractors, and OEMs for building shell, clean rooms, MEP, and process equipment.
- Verify complete and safe installation of HVAC, clean utilities (WFI, PW, clean steam), and black utilities.
- Ensure EHS compliance and GMP protocols during construction and fit-out.
- Maintain stakeholder alignment and provide weekly progress reporting.
- Coordinate process equipment setting, utilities tie-ins, skids/modules, and high-purity piping; drive FAT/SAT scheduling and field-readiness.
- Manage cleanroom construction (classification, air change rates, pressure cascades) and contamination control during fit-out.
- Enforce stringent EHS programs: LOTO, confined space, hot work, lifting plans, and permit-to-work; achieve TRIR targets.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 8+ years managing pharmaceutical/biotech greenfield or major brownfield projects.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, cleanroom construction, and process utility systems.
- Proficiency in scheduling tools (Primavera/MS Project) and cost control.
- Biologics manufacturing (upstream/downstream), single-use technologies, and process skid integration.
- Clean utilities design/build (WFI, PW, clean steam), environmental monitoring systems, and cleanroom certifications.
- Electrical distribution, standby systems, and control room/BMS/EMS integration for GMP environments.
