Client Accountant; Advisory

Ascendis Corporate Advisory Limited is the latest addition to an existing accountancy practice established over 21 years ago. The Ascendis Group has gone from strength to strength with further growth in the pipeline.

The Advisory division focuses on commercial accounting and business intelligence; we want to deliver high level advisory support to businesses that would not typically require a full-time hire. With our offering of outsourced finance functions and Fractional Financial Controller/Finance Director support we aim to bridge the skills gap in SME and Owner Managed business’ finance functions.

This is not a traditional compliance-heavy practice role.

The successful candidate will lead on monthly management accounts, forecasting, and advisory conversations for a portfolio of growth-focused SMEs. You will work directly with business owners and directors, helping them understand performance, improve margins, manage cash flow, and make informed strategic decisions.

You will effectively operate as a “virtual Finance Manager” or “outsourced management Accountant” for clients. Based out of our offices in Wilmslow you will deliver accountancy services on site at the client premises, from our offices or remotely from home. You must have a willingness to travel locally however this is a Hybrid role with some time on site and the balance in our offices or remote from home.

• Prepare and present monthly/quarterly management accounts
• Deliver clear variance analysis and performance commentary
• Develop KPI dashboards tailored to each client
• Analyse margins, overheads, and profitability trends

• Prepare rolling short term cash flow forecasts
• Support budgeting and annual planning processes
• Lead monthly/quarterly review meetings with clients
  
  Act as a trusted financial sounding board for business owners
• Provide commercial insight, not just financial reporting

• Act as point of contact for Year End and Audit
• Oversee VAT and core compliance work where relevant
• Ensure financial controls and reporting standards are maintained

• 3+ years’ experience in practice or industry
• Strong management accounts preparation experience
• Confident presenting financial information to business owners
