AMES Aircraft Inspection Lead

Overview

What you will do:

• Promotes a culture of compliance and safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within established safety guidelines & work is performed in accordance with policies and procedures. Uses and safely operates all required powered and non-powered ground support equipment
• Assists Management by leading teams of employees, planning work for shift/crew, assigning tasks, training and helping to set priorities for team as well as providing supervision with feedback of crew capabilities, gaps and progress in development
• Communicates at all times in a constructive and professional manner with customers, management, peers and technicians. Resolves minor difficulties that are encountered during the execution of job assignments by inspectors on the crew.
• Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine method of completion as specified within required documents. Performs inspections, routine, and non-routine, on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data, customer maintenance program requirements, within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and customer standards of quality
• Works with customer representatives to ensure customer paperwork is accomplished in accordance with customer technical data and policies. Accurately completes all paperwork and computer-based work data submissions in a timely manner
• Assists all inspectors in documentation of all maintenance actions in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established company, customer, and FAA guidelines.

• Assists Supervisor in providing leadership and technical support to assigned personnel. Aids management in creating and maintaining a safe work environment, managing costs and delivering a quality product on time. Performs as a working member of the crew providing additional oversight to ensure work is performed within budgeted time and within the guidelines of all applicable FAA regulations. Helps to manage the daily workflow of the aircraft.
  
  Provides help with all aspects of the project to include troubleshooting issues, problems with customers, and any duties assigned by the Quality Supervisor.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to accomplish tasks under pressure with limited direct supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate, update and persuade others to ensure the satisfactory accomplishment of high-quality work within established time frames.
• Effectively speak, read, and write in the English language
• Demonstrate knowledge of inspection methods.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, and instructions
• Proven leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to foster cooperation and teamwork with others, make the sound decisions and exercise good judgement
• Demonstrate efficiency in the use and application of the inspection equipment, etc. that are necessary for the accomplishments of assigned duties

• 5 years of transport category aircraft maintenance experience, 2 of which in Heavy Maintenance type environment
• 2 years maintenance on Boeing aircraft.
• Valid Airframe and Powerplant

• College degree in an aviation or related technician field.
• Certificate of completion for General Familiarization training on Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, and/or 777 aircraft
