Position: MES Developer
Duration: 6+ Months
Immediate interview with the client
- Scope of Position:
- Design, code, implement, support, and maintain IT applications as an individual contributor and as part of a project team. Support daily manufacturing operations in an Optical Fiber manufacturing plant. Provide analysis, design, and coding support for system enhancements. Maintain adherence to company standards and procedures. - Day-to-Day Responsibilities: -
- Provide daily IT support for operations.
- Develop or modify MES or Warehouse software supporting manufacturing processes.
- Recommend and develop information system projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Use standard methodologies for projects and tasks.
- Monitor service levels and seek ways to improve service efficiency and effectiveness.
- Test, debug, and document programs to meet customer requirements.
- Interact with users to define and analyze problems.
- Provide technical expertise in developing practices and procedures for software applications that are cost-effective and meet business needs.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Messaging - MSMQ, XML.
- Strong backend development skills and knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or others).
- Knowledge or experience with MES systems such as Factory Works or Camstar.
- Willingness to be on off-hours call on a rotational basis.
Soft Skills:
- Self-discipline and motivation.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and regions.
- Process-oriented and customer-focused.
- Effective communication with engineers, production associates, and managers.
Education: B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant degree.
