Working alongside experienced supervisors and master technicians, we’ll teach you about our vehicle maintenance processes and the cutting‑edge technology we use. We also provide industry‑certified training. Clean facilities and all necessary major shop tools are provided.
Main Responsibilities- Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and complete vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to solve problems and comfortable using tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Team player able to work well both independently and with others
- Basic computer skills
- Must understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and policies established by Penske management
- Must adhere to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies, including correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
- Requires driving Penske and customer vehicles; regulated by DOT and requires a current driver qualification file (annual MVR check, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History, etc.). CDL holders subject to DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
- Willingness to work the required schedule, location, complete Penske employment application, background check, drug screen, physical, and potential travel for training
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work in all weather conditions
- See and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). Must push/pull truck tires that exceed 100 lbs
