Maintain and service all heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and building control systems. This includes building automation and control systems to achieve optimal operation or energy efficiency, and making recommendations for modifications based on analysis of systems. Perform measurements, adjustments, and repairs to DDC, electrical, and pneumatic control systems. Conduct preventive maintenance on building control system devices and assist with preventive maintenance of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment.
Note: This position is designated as mandatory personnel and may require reporting to work during adverse weather conditions and assisting with snow, ice, and debris removal or HVAC issues related to weather events.
Education and ExperienceMinimum
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- 5 or more years documentable work experience in the controls industry.
- 5 or more years of experience in BAS installation & service as related to direct expansion & chilled/heated water HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic control systems.
- CFC universal certificate, types 1, 2 & 3.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Energy Management Systems (EMS) and/or process automation systems.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot DDC sensors and control devices, including conduit and cabling systems.
- Ability to use a personal computer to diagnose and manipulate equipment using Building Automation Systems.
Valid NC driver's license, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
