This is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.

• Conduct foot patrols of buildings and grounds in assigned areas
• Lock and unlock facilities as scheduled
• Identify security risks and make appropriate notifications
• Respond to calls for service and to fire alarms as requested
• Assist police officers; assist motorists and pedestrians
• Enforce parking violations and other duties as assigned
• Assist in training new Security Guards
• Direct traffic during special events
• Assist guests and visitors with directions and information
• Provide escort services for university faculty, staff, student and guests
• Provide Crime Prevention Programming
• Perform any other related duties that may be required

Duty Station will be Main Campus. Initial 2‑week training required.
Work times: 3 pm‑11 pm, 3 pm‑9 pm, 5 pm‑11 pm, 11 pm‑7 am.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Sufficient experience to handle emergency situations
• Valid N.C. driver’s license with no major violations within the past 3 years

Possible shifts: 3 pm‑11 pm, 3 pm‑9 pm, 5 pm‑11 pm, 11 pm‑7 am.

Vary to include weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Minimum 24 hrs per week and up to 38 hrs per week.

$15.00 – $16.00 / Hour
