Position Overview
This is a part time position. Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs, exceeding their expectations, and making every shopping visit a pleasant and satisfying experience. This requires accurately and efficiently operating the cash register, providing various services at the customer service counter, and maintaining security and control of all funds in the cash register.
Responsibilities- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
- Provide customer service at the counter.
- Maintain security and control of all funds in the cash register.
- Perform duties of floor monitor when not assigned to be on-duty; may be assigned to be the on-duty floor monitor.
- Perform the duties of cashier and bagger when appropriate.
- Association Age Requirement: Associates must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and other associates who only speak English.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and calculate a discount percentage amount.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Complete company’s training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, customer service clerk technical skills, floor monitor technical skills.
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands or arms; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and reach from 6 to 48 inches, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and reach from 6 to 72 inches. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color and depth perception.
The work environment characteristics include occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold; and a noise level that is usually moderate.
