Coastal Carolina Animal Hospital - Wilmington, NC

Coastal Carolina Animal Hospital is a fast‑paced, two‑doctor general practice located in Wilmington, NC, down the road from the beach. Our workplace culture is a cornerstone of who we are.

We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (full‑time) to join our experienced team. This position is for experienced veterinary professionals only; applicants must have prior experience working in a veterinary clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Check patient medical records for past histories, enter data in computer, and file.
  • Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Maintains client educational material efficiently.
  • Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
  • Admits and discharges patients.
  • Processes prescription refills, calls out pharmacy, and facilitates online pharmacy.
  • Monitors hospital patients and logs vital signs.
  • Administers medications to patients as needed.
  • Placing catheters and performing blood draws.
  • Restraint and assistance to the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Denotes an Essential Function.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, a candidate must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. They must be able to multi‑task. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED and one to two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in North Carolina are preferred, not required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
