Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Registered Nurse functions as a member of a clinical team in the provision of healthcare in a fast‑paced college health center. Responsibilities include obtaining pertinent medical information during check‑in; educating patients; providing care and treatment consistent with nursing practice and theory; administering immunizations and allergy shots; and performing basic laboratory tests. The nurse must demonstrate the ability to accurately assess a patient’s medical condition and may assume a lead role in the clinic whenever necessary.
AdditionalResponsibilities
Service in the nurse triage rotation; backup support to laboratory services, including performance and processing of commonly ordered clinic tests; key administrative tasks such as processing referrals and supporting an assigned physician or mid‑level provider through patient communication, care coordination, sharing normal lab results, and facilitating follow‑up.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsLicense to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
Preferred Education, Professional Skills and Experience- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Experience working in a college health setting
- Experience triaging patients
- Experience administering allergy shots
- Experience administering immunizations
- Experience performing basic laboratory and point of care tests
- Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina, by the NC Board of Nursing
- Current CPR certification required with 3 months of hire
