Assistant Nurse Manager – Women's Unit

Schedule: Four 10‑hour shifts, Night Shift, Full‑time

Department: Women’s Services

• Full‑time night shift schedule (4 × 10‑hour shifts)

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level.
• Partner with the Nurse Manager and other leaders to create, support, and maintain a culture of professional accountability.
• Grow and nurture team members, fostering a healthy work environment that improves patient outcomes, retention, and organizational excellence.
• Facilitate decision making within the department, coordinating patient care through delegation, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Utilize the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Novant Health Nursing Practice Model, and evidence‑based guidelines to guide nursing practice.
• Ensure team members provide care consistent with the Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
• Actively participate in unit practice and best‑practice committees and promote collegial relationships with physicians and other professional groups.
• Remove barriers to assure optimal patient safety and satisfaction.
• Maintain all requirements of a Registered Nurse and develop a self‑development plan with the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, or Nurse Executive.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience required.
• Prior demonstrated nursing leadership preferred.
