Assistant Nurse Manager – Women's Unit
Novant Health – New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC
Schedule: Four 10‑hour shifts, Night Shift, Full‑time
Department: Women’s Services
What We Offer- Full‑time night shift schedule (4 × 10‑hour shifts)
- Location:
New Hanover Regional Medical Center - Opportunities for professional growth within the Women’s Services department
- Provide clinical and administrative leadership at the unit level.
- Partner with the Nurse Manager and other leaders to create, support, and maintain a culture of professional accountability.
- Grow and nurture team members, fostering a healthy work environment that improves patient outcomes, retention, and organizational excellence.
- Facilitate decision making within the department, coordinating patient care through delegation, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Utilize the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Novant Health Nursing Practice Model, and evidence‑based guidelines to guide nursing practice.
- Ensure team members provide care consistent with the Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in unit practice and best‑practice committees and promote collegial relationships with physicians and other professional groups.
- Remove barriers to assure optimal patient safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain all requirements of a Registered Nurse and develop a self‑development plan with the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, or Nurse Executive.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience required.
- Prior demonstrated nursing leadership preferred.
