Steel Site LLC is looking for a dependable and experienced Steel Fabricator – Welder to join our growing shop team in Wilmington, NC. This is a full-time, hands‑on role where you’ll be fabricating everything from basic angle clips to custom structural assemblies and heavy equipment repairs. • Fabricate structural steel components based on shop drawings, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding (and other processes as needed) with precision and quality control.
• Use hand tools, cutting tools, and shop machinery to measure, cut, grind, and assemble steel parts.
• Assist in heavy equipment repairs, modifications, or rebuilds when needed.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and other shop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all shop safety procedures.
• Occasionally work independently on “build‑on‑the‑fly” tasks with minimal supervision.
• Perform quality checks to ensure fabricated components meet project specifications.
• Take part in skill evaluations and development plans after your 90‑day review.

• 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication and welding (5+ years strongly encouraged).
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specs.
• Strong skills in MIG welding; additional welding processes are a plus.
• Experience using grinders, saws, drills, and other basic fabrication tools.
• Basic machining skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable and safety‑conscious, with good communication and teamwork.
• Forklift experience and valid driver’s license preferred.
• No formal education or certifications required—just proven skill and common sense.

Full-Time:
Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Overtime is optional, not required
