IKA Works, Inc. is looking for a results-oriented, quality-conscious individual to join our team as a Pilot Plant and Service Technician. This individual will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and assembly of IKA Process trial fleet machines and its auxiliary equipment; inhouse and field testing; and assisting the Process service department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform industrial pilot plant and field testing which includes industrial machine set-up, running tests, cleaning and disposal of any waste.
  • Clean and maintain all trial fleet machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Assemble, test, and evaluate trial units.
  • Complete reports for evaluations of trial machines and parts.
  • Assist in customer repairs and spare part selection.
  • Organize and maintain the pilot plant.
  • Provide technical assistance in start-up and training for field trials at customer facilities.
  • Routinely study and gain technical knowledge in mechanical aspects and applications for laboratory, analytical and process equipment and applications.
  • Assist the Service and Assembly Departments as needed.
  • Utilize analytical measuring equipment and instrumentation such as Particle Size Analyzer, viscometers, and microscope.
Requirements
  • Associate degree
  • Results oriented, quality conscious individual with a minimum of two years of experience in assembly, auto mechanics or service-related field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with basic chemistry knowledge.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Proficient college level mathematical skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read installation and assembly drawings and define spare parts.
  • Attention to detail is a must.

NOTE:

This role may involve domestic and international travel to customer facilities and plant sites, using a variety of transportation methods including air, car, and train. A driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport are required.
