Our cluster includes WGNI 102.7 (Today’s Hits & Yesterday’s Favorites), WWQQ 101.3 (Cape Fear’s Country Leader), WMNX 97.3 (Coast Hip Hop/R&B), WKXS 94.5 (The Hawk Classic Rock), and WAAV 107.9 & 980 (The Wave News Talk). Our cluster reaches thousands of listeners daily in the Cape Fear Region.

CUMULUS | Myrtle Beach, SC The Grand Strand is home to WDAI 98.5 Kiss FM, WSEA 100.3 The Game, WSYN Sunny 103.1, and WLFF 106.5 Nash Icon. Our stations reach thousands of listeners of all ages daily.

Position Overview

The audio industry is dynamic with podcasting, streaming, smart speakers, and live radio. CUMULUS MEDIA | Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC cluster has an immediate opening for a full-time Digital Sales Manager
. The ideal candidate will develop and implement effective digital strategies to exceed the digital budget and will support a team of local sellers in Wilmington and Myrtle Beach to maximize digital revenue growth. You will provide ongoing strategy, product support, and digital education to improve sales team knowledge and confidence in presenting digital solutions. You will have the opportunity to use your passion for digital marketing to develop personalized, innovative, full-scope advertising solutions to meet the marketing needs of new and existing clients through the integration of digital products and services with our radio assets.

This is a leadership role and will involve collaborating with the cluster’s sales leadership and coaching fellow sales team members on selling our digital products.

Our digital services include:
Contextual (Content/Keywords), Behavioral Retargeting, Native Content, Digital DNA, Video Pre/Mid/Post-roll, You Tube Video, Facebook Video, Social Display, Geo-Fencing, Addressable Geo-Fencing, Mobile Conversion Zones, Event Targeting, Site Retargeting, Connected TV, OTT, E‑mail Services, SEO/SEM, Custom Landing Pages, Responsive Websites, Campaign Management, E-Commerce, and more.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Resident expert in all digital products offered by Cumulus
  • Implement effective digital sales strategies to achieve digital revenue budget
  • Collaborate with local management to establish digital priorities and expectations for the local sales team
  • Support sales staff by participating in client meetings
  • Assist in closing strategic, high-priority digital sales agreements
  • Provide ongoing digital education through coaching and training
  • Become a subject-matter expert of company digital marketing/advertising platforms and offerings
  • Act as an external consultant and internal trainer on CUMULUS digital tactics, benefits, and trends
  • Own end-to-end local digital operations to support new business development, fulfillment, campaign management, and client renewals
  • Maintain high levels of communication internally and externally with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Analyze existing initiatives and conceptualize new programs to advance the digital team
  • Provide understanding of markets, customers, and competitors to target needs and drive sales
  • Provide the sales teams with training, planning tools, and support to reach revenue goals
  • Conduct market research on trends, competitors, and customer analysis
  • Travel between markets is required
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of digital sales, marketing, or advertising experience preferred; broadcasting industry exposure a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field is preferred
  • Experience selling and managing digital marketing solutions for local and regional advertisers
  • Experience with leading digital platforms such as Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads, etc.
  • Experience developing effective digital marketing strategies to accomplish advertiser goals
  • Solid understanding of the B2B sales process: pipelines, lead/revenue generation, closing, cross-platform solutions
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize and solve client issues
