Position Overview
This position is part of the CNRO Float Pool, primarily supporting the ED Holding / EDIP Unit. Patients are located within the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed placement. Travelers must be highly flexible, comfortable with high patient turnover, and able to manage MS/Tele and occasional PCU-level patients.This is a high-acuity, mixed-patient environment. All candidates will be interviewed.
Patient Population & Ratios
- Patient Type: Adult Medical/Surgical (varied diagnoses)
- Target Ratios:
- MS/Tele: 1:6 – 1:7
- PCU Level: 1:3 – 1:4
- PCU experience strongly preferred
Floating Requirements
- Float to:
- ED Holding
- Medical-Surgical Units
- Other inpatient units as needed
- Travelers are expected to take MS/Tele assignments and assist with ED holding overflow.
Charting & Systems
- EMR: Epic (Preferred)
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Communication: SBAR
- Monitoring: Cardiac telemetry (on-unit and remote)
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years recent MS/Tele experience
- Experience with:
- Telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation
- Rapid Response / Code Teams
- High-acuity patient environments
- Traveler experience: Not required
- Locals Accepted: Yes (rate difference may apply)
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- EKG competency – MUST pass EKG test prior to start
Preferred Certifications
- NIHSS
- CPI
