As a Maternal-Fetal Sonographer you'll perform specialized ultrasounds to assess the health, growth, and development of a fetus and monitor maternal reproductive health during pregnancy. What We're Looking For:
  • Education:
    Associate degree -
    2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Must be a graduate of an AMA approved ultrasound technology program, ARDMS certified.
  • Experience: One year Ob/Gyn experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: RDMS, OB required.
  • Additional skills required:
    • Must have current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment as required by department.
    • Must maintain ARDMS certification.
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Working knowledge of various ultrasound devices.
    • Must have ability to independently obtain high quality images needed to assist MFM physician with diagnosis.
    • Perform high-level sterilization according to Clinical Compliance standards following each exam.
    • Ability to successfully complete departmental and organizational skills validation and competencies as required.
  • Additional skills required:
    • Able to perform independently to obtain high quality images and advanced Doppler techniques.
    • Able to assist MFM physician with complex procedures.
    • Ability to put patient at ease during ultrasound(s) and procedure(s).
    • Reconciles patient's medical and prenatal history, current medications, medication allergies etc.
    • Demonstrate willingness to be flexible as needed to accomplish departmental needs and goals.
What You'll Do:
  • Performs ultrasound imaging of the fetus and maternal reproductive organs.

  • Assesses fetal growth, anatomy, and development.

  • Monitors amniotic fluid levels, placental position, and umbilical cord health.

  • Detects potential congenital abnormalities or complications.

  • Evaluates maternal pelvic structures, including the uterus and ovaries.

  • Collaborates with obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists.

  • Maintains accurate medical records and documents imaging findings.

  • Educates patients about the ultrasound procedure and addresses basic questions.

  • Ensures safe operation of ultrasound equipment and adherence to protocols.
