Position SummaryThe Compliance Specialist reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and assists in ensuring that all Athletics day-to-day operations are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Daily interaction with student-athletes, coaches, and staff to monitor CARA activities and reporting.
- Conduct DI initial eligibility evaluations and monitor DI amateurism certification.
- Monitor on-campus visits and issue student host allowance.
- Provide DI and conference rule interpretations and create educational materials for coaches meetings.
- Assist with data collection, data entry, and NCAA reporting, including self-reports.
- Collaborate with campus partners to ensure compliance with institutional and NCAA policies (admissions, housing, financial aid, international programs, etc.).
- Monitor work of interns, student workers, and volunteers as needed.
- Adhere to NCAA, CAA, institutional, state, and federal regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- A master's degree in sports management, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Two or more years of experience in DI compliance or DI academic advising.
- Experience using NCAA Apps and Teamworks compliance software.
- Familiarity with university academic policies and Banner.
- Experience conducting internal audits or self-assessments related to NCAA compliance.
