Overview
Our practice is based in the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, a 678-bed level II trauma center, which serves as a tertiary care center for seven counties in southeastern coastal North Carolina.
We also provide anesthesia services to multiple other locations across the Cape Fear region, including Caper Fear (Orthopedic) Hospital, Pender Memorial Hospital, Dosher Hospital (Southport), Atlantic Surgi Center, and various office-based settings.

Case Assignments
Peds cases (~20%), endo, dental, MRI, eyes, any other cases that are younger children. The peds anesthesiologist has many other cases besides peds cases including OB, heart and vascular, neurosurgery, endos, orthopedics and OB/GYN cases

Our practice has built a stable team of 26 board-certified, career-committed anesthesiologists. Many of our physicians have fellowship training in cardiovascular, pain management, regional, and pediatric anesthesiology.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Qualifications
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
