Job description:
Residential CAD Drafter Responsibilities- Create detailed architectural and construction drawings for residential projects using CAD software
- Interpret and translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate technical drawings
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure plans meet client requirements and building codes
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback, design changes, or site conditions
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details for new homes, remodels, and additions
- Maintain organized project files and drawing documentation
- Assist in preparing permit and construction documents as needed
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Coordinate with other team members to resolve design and drafting issues
- Support the design team with additional drafting or administrative tasks as required
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar). AutoCAD Architecture experience would be a bonus
- Experience drafting residential construction documents preferred
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and building codes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with local building codes and permitting processes is a plus
- Willingness to learn new software or drafting techniques as needed
- Portfolio of previous drafting work is a plus
