The leading Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical contractor in Wilmington is expanding its team and looking for a skilled Estimator to take ownership of accurate, competitive, and detailed project estimates. Whether your background is in mechanical, plumbing, or both, this is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative, high-performing team that genuinely enjoys what they do.
What You’ll Do- Review blueprints, specs, and technical documents to develop precise cost estimates.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to define project scope and budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and project budgets for commercial and residential jobs.
- Track costs throughout the project to keep estimates aligned with actuals.
- Identify cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and performance.
- Stay current on the latest materials, technology, and industry codes.
- Experience estimating mechanical and/or plumbing projects.
- Strong blueprint reading and technical takeoff skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools.
