WXT General Construction Technician

JOB SUMMARY

As a General Construction Technician, you will be expected to follow instructions, prioritize safety, and perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to drywall installation, demolition work, and framing, all within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a dependable team player who is consistently punctual and open to cross-training across multiple areas of construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Drywall Installation & Repair: Measure, cut, and install drywall in accordance with project specifications.

Metal Stud Framing: Assist with layout and installation of framing systems

Demolition Work:

• Dismantle structures and components using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery

• Remove and clear debris from the job site to prepare for new construction
• Follow demolition project plans and ensure compliance with safety regulations

• General Construction Support:
Assist with material handling, cleanup, and other site duties as needed.

Communication:

• Follow instructions accurately and efficiently
• Communicate clearly with team members and Superintendent.

Safety:

• Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protective

Equipment (PPE)

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Performance/Operations:

• Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
• Operate and maintain construction tools and equipment safely and properly
• Work flexibly across multiple construction functions and adapt to daily job changes

Attendance: Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and consistency in attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in construction or demolition preferred
• Familiarity with power tools and basic construction equipment preferred
• OSHA-10 Certificate is a plus
• Ability to follow direction and work within a team

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physical Demands: Role requires frequent standing, walking (including on uneven surfaces), and climbing ladders. The employee must regularly lift or move 50+ pounds. • Skills:
  Must be able to read and understand detailed written instructions. Ability to perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Licenses: Valid driver's license required.
