* Job Summary:
** The Staff Accountant supports accounting and tax activities across a variety of client engagements. This role focuses on execution, learning, and building a strong technical foundation in both accounting and tax compliance under the guidance of more experienced team members.
This position is designed for early-career professionals seeking broad exposure and accelerated development in a small-firm environment.
** Responsibilities
* *** General Accounting & Financial Support
*** Prepare, review, and post routine journal entries to the general ledger
* Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
* Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
* Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
* Support accounts payable and receivable processes as neede
** Tax Compliance Support
*** Assist in the preparation of individual, partnership, and business tax returns
* Gather and organize tax-related financial data and documentation
* Support tax research and compliance tasks under supervision
* Assist with responding to tax notices and audit requests
** Collaboration & Development
*** Work closely with Accountants and Senior Accountants on client engagements
* Communicate effectively with internal team members to meet deadlines
* Build foundational accounting and tax knowledge through hands-on experience
** Qualifications & Skills
**** Education
* ** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
** Experience
* ** 0–2 years of relevant accounting or tax experience (internships applicable)
** Technical Skills
*** Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., CCH) preferred
* Exposure to tax preparation software a plus
** Soft Skills
*** Strong attention to detail
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Effective written and verbal communication
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities
