Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Base pay range

$90.00/hr - $100.00/hr

Insight Global is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for one of our clients in the Aerospace & Defense Industry. This is a 12‑month contract‑to‑hire opportunity, 5 days a week on‑site, with a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off). The role can pay $90‑100/hr based on experience and education.

• The engineer will support the full lifecycle of mission‑critical embedded software — from design and development to integration, validation, and live mission support — all within an Agile development environment that values collaboration, iteration, and rapid innovation.
• This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll leverage Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and Software in the Loop (SIL) methodologies to ensure robust, high‑fidelity testing of complex aerospace systems.

• Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering/Science or related field + 6–9 years
• Master’s + 4–7 years
• or equivalent 10–13 years of relevant experience
• Embedded systems integration & test (software/hardware)
• Space payload I&T and ground equipment development
• Strong skills in C/C++
• Hands‑on experience with HIL/SIL aerospace environments
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment

• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Space vehicle development/integration experience; familiarity with lasers, image processors, visible/IR cameras, servo motors, actuators, focus mechanisms
• Knowledge of the space domain and mission applications
• Experience with National Instruments equipment, MATLAB, Simulink
