This position will be part of a larger team but be the only onsite team member at our Wilmington, MA office.

Job Summary

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting day to day HR operations across a wide range of functions, including employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and employee engagement. This role ensures the consistent and effective delivery of HR services while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine employee and manager inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive matters as needed
  • Partner with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) provider to manage compliance related tasks and assist with employee relations matters
  • Participate in employee relations matters, including disciplinary meetings, terminations, and internal investigations
  • Maintain accurate and complete employee records, including employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, and other key data
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation sessions to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for team members
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including planning and coordinating events and recognition activities
  • Facilitate off boarding processes including exit interviews, termination paperwork, and final pay coordination
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Human Resources role
  • HR Certification through HRCI or SHRM preferred
  • Prior experience working with a PEO is a plus
Required Skills
  • Understanding of HR principles and employment laws
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
Physical requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
