In this role you will provide leadership and oversight for Systems Engineering teams, ensuring execution excellence in all areas.
- Lead and oversee Systems Engineering teams across key disciplines such as Systems Engineering, System Safety, Cybersecurity, Reliability, and other technical areas essential to program success.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels: manage full‑time employees, co‑ops, interns, and contractors; forecast future resource needs; close workforce gaps.
- Drive development and engagement of Systems Engineers: set objectives, conduct reviews, provide feedback, and mentor team members in both domains to foster technical growth and career progression.
- Oversee Systems Engineering activities:
Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with an emphasis on SysML modeling and tools; requirements development, decomposition, and analysis; system architecture definition and integration with program requirements;
Verification and Validation (V&V) planning. - Ensure compliance with System Safety, Cybersecurity, and Systems Reliability standards; review and ensure high‑quality delivery of system‑level and software‑level artifacts to customers.
- Track and report team and program performance: monitor and analyze quality metrics; solicit and address feedback from internal management and external customers; provide regular progress updates for leadership and customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Systems Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or Master’s degree (M.S.) with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering methodologies, processes, tools, and best practices.
- Expertise in Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML modeling frameworks.
- Experience with system architecture, requirements development, and lifecycle management processes.
- Familiarity with standards for System Safety, Cybersecurity, and Reliability.
- Strong leadership abilities for guiding cross‑disciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal and customer engagement.
- Experience in defense, military, or similar industries is highly desirable.
- Existing U.S. Security Clearance is preferred; ability to obtain one is required.
