Position: Transportation Clerk/ Material Handler
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent transportation clerk experience in logistics to be considered for this position*
Under general supervision, performs a variety of assignments, both technical and clerical, to receive, inspect, store and ship material, but not limited to receipt, control, preparation, material distribution, records, and reports. Receives general direction on new assignment aspects and instructions as to how to perform required tasks and results expected. Duties require manual, clerical, and data entry skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with carriers and customer service to address questions, concerns and needsAct as back up for Outbound Transportation Clerk and UPS clerk as neededAnswer telephone calls in courteous and professional mannerGather information and prepare truck load report dailyAssist with order processingPrepare government orders, including printing the appropriate tire labels and appropriate government formsRun the appropriate closing reports dailyMaintain inventory levels of all office suppliesServes as a back-up for daily productivity reportsThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position; they are only the major dutiesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
