LocationRemote (West Coast, CA preferred)
The RoleWe are looking for a passionate, self‑motivated West Coast Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for the North American Team selling into the West Coast of the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will identify new opportunities in food, biotech, pharma, and life sciences, and help grow sales of our Biolog products, including microbial s and reagents, Phenotype Micro Arrays, mammalian products, the Odin family, and Anaerobic Chambers.
The TSS will support our customers in a technical capacity by providing their knowledge and technical support to the post‑sales process. The individual will report to the Director of Sales, North America. The ideal candidate should be passionate about serving customer needs and be well versed in microbial biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Overnight travel is estimated to be between 20‑40% and is location dependent.
You Make a Difference
- Grow revenue for Biolog products across the West Coast
- Engage prospects via email, phone, and Linked In; qualify and nurture leads
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and collaborate to close deals
- Maintain and grow product usage by conducting technical presentations and by providing product support and seminars
- Conduct product demonstrations for prospective customers and present acquired data on short timelines
- Relay product feedback to marketing to inform new product development
- Represent Biolog at regional events and industry conferences
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns and service launches
- Maintain CRM accuracy (Salesforce) and report on activity
- Work cross‑functionally with operations, customer service, and project teams to ensure flawless customer onboarding and satisfaction
- Bachelor’s in life science or related field; MS degree in microbiology is highly preferred.
- Extensive microbiology knowledge and experience including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi.
- 2‑5 years of successful technical sales experience selling, conducting presentations and product demonstrations in the life science sales industry OR highly motivated Field Applications Scientist with 2‑5 years of experience who is ready to step into a sales position.
- Experience selling in complex purchasing environments with multiple decision makers.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Highly organized, self‑driven, and comfortable working independently.
- CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
- Willing to travel up to 40% to engage customers and support regional growth.

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $135,000
