ABOUTTHE ROLE
As a Service & Engagement Executive Team Leader, no two days are the same. Typical responsibilities include:
- Build a team of passionate Guest Advocates and Service & Engagement Leaders focused on exceeding guest service expectations.
- Drive store sales growth and understand how your department contributes to overall profitability.
- Anticipate staffing needs, plan talent and recruit on a long‑ and short‑term basis.
- Manage leaders to complete training, ensure understanding and provide continuous education opportunities.
- Engage in development conversations throughout the Service & Engagement career path.
- Personalize recognition to reinforce guest service behaviors and promote a positive culture.
- Establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
- Use business reporting and guest insights to troubleshoot and follow up on opportunity areas.
- Respond quickly to negative guest experiences, de‑escalate situations and empower your team to resolve them.
- Own schedules following guidelines to support peak traffic, holidays and weekends.
- Manage the store experience by anticipating and reacting with urgency to staffing or scheduling needs.
- Ensure schedules support a frictionless experience during peak traffic times for all shopping preferences.
- Champion physical and digital offerings to educate and promote Target’s benefits, features and offerings.
- Enable your team to stay up‑to‑date on promotions, brand launches and events.
- Use guest survey reporting tools to drive change in key areas and coach/recognize teams.
- Lead the team to deliver an efficient, hassle‑free guest pickup experience.
- Work a schedule aligned to guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; hold others accountable to commitments.
- Follow all safe and secure training and processes.
- Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.
- Perform all other duties as directed by business needs.
- Enjoy working in an energetic environment focused on quick, collaborative service.

- Interactive with people, solving concerns and improving guest days.
- Prepared for a full‑time, non‑office role that includes early, late and weekend hours.
- 4‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and business acumen.
- Conflict management, leadership and accountability.
- Ability to relate with all organizational levels.
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and quantitative analysis.
- Adaptability to current technologies.
- Prioritized task management and independent team work.
- Access all building areas as needed.
- Interpret instructions, reports and information.
- Lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds; handle cash accurately.
- Flexible schedule with nights, weekends and holidays; regular attendance required.
