Overview

Assistant Store Manager - Prices Corner, Wilmington, DE. DTLR, Inc. is seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Store Manager in daily store operations, maximizing sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, staff training and development, human resources management, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall quality and performance of the retail store staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Model effective leadership to achieve store goals and training standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, training and development of store personnel.
  • Assist and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
  • Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget targets.
  • Assist Store Manager with monitoring and addressing issues related to loss or shrinkage to meet company shrink targets.
  • Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
  • Support training of employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
  • Uphold company customer service standards to provide a friendly environment and outstanding service.
  • Assist in completing accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Standard work week not to exceed 40 hours; flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the requirements below are representative of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Education And/Or Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year in retail management.
Skills And Knowledge Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of the English language to communicate with management, associates and customers.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to think strategically, plan and organize effectively.
  • Professionalism in all situations.
  • Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
  • Results-driven with critical and creative thinking; project management, time management, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with compassion and diplomacy.
  • Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and adapt to changing demands from multiple sources.
  • Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Willing to work in multiple stores within the assigned district.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods; lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases in a fast-paced environment with flexibility.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Willing to travel by car, plane or train as needed.
Compensation

Assistant Manager pay range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Bonus opportunity if guidelines or criteria are met. All roles are eligible for the company 401K plan. Full-time roles are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and company-paid time off.
