Are you interested in the scientific interfaces between biology, chemistry and engineering leading to performance benefits in real‑world industrial applications? We are currently seeking outstanding candidates for 2026 summer internships in our R&D Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
Responsibilities- Development of genetic tools and high‑throughput methods for microbial biocatalyst creation to produce proteins and renewable chemicals.
- High‑throughput engineering of organisms for improved bioethanol production.
- Advancement of microbiome research for pre/postbiotics for health & wellness benefits.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in the Biological Sciences (cell & molecular biology, genetics, microbiology), Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computational Science or a related field
- Have completed your sophomore year of undergrad education and will continue your education in the fall
- Can work in an interdisciplinary scientific setting
- High level of initiative and the ability to work in a team environment
- Exhibit exceptional analytical instrumentation skills
- Ability to document results, analyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings
- Familiarity with theoretical and practical aspects in related area
Our Wilmington R&D Center offers an intensive 10‑week science and engineering internship program, in which interns develop key projects and take part in a variety of learning activities. Your summer experience will go beyond a single department or lab with exposure to a broad range of scientific disciplines. At the end of the summer program you will deliver a presentation of your ideas, results, and conclusions, thereby developing practical real‑life skills.
Our interns are paid a competitive hourly rate and are responsible for their own housing and transportation for the summer.
