Care Vet of Newport Pike has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Veterinarian to join our thriving, well-established practice in Wilmington, Delaware!

We’re seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine in a supportive, collaborative environment. This role offers:

Our hospital is committed to providing progressive, individualized medical care with the tools and technology needed to deliver exceptional outcomes. Our facility includes:

• Four exam rooms
• Butterfly ultrasound (for screening/non-diagnostic imaging)
• Digital dental X-ray
• Digital radiography
• IDEXX in-house laboratory
• Therapy laser (commonly used post-dental, post-op, and for orthopedic cases such as CCL injuries)
• Doppler blood pressure
• Tono Vet for intraocular pressure measurement
• Two anesthesia machines (one equipped with full monitoring capabilities)

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery on animals
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases
• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
• Prescribe medication
• Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
